| DISCLAIMER: The analysis contained herein is entirely my own, and is not endorsed by Team Snout, or anyone else for that matter. | ||||||||||
| Since no "official" winner was declared for Justice Unlimited, I set out to determine on my own how to rank the teams. I understand | ||||||||||
| that some may prefer not to think of The Game as a competitive endeavor and such comparisons should not be made, so I apologize | ||||||||||
| in advance to those people, and suggest that they do not read further. For me, this is just for fun, much like the stats I keep for my | ||||||||||
| baseball team that you can find elsewhere on this site. | ||||||||||
| I came up with two ways to compare performance in JU, and summarize the results here. For all the data, see the supporting | ||||||||||
| worksheets. The difficulty lies in that not all teams saw the same clues, so neither approach is really all that great on its own. | ||||||||||
| Comparison #1: Fastest to Solve Highest Number of Clues | ||||||||||
| This was the easiest to calculate, but could not account for the fact that clues that only some teams saw were of varying difficulty, | ||||||||||
| and that teams were allowed to finish at different times, allowing some more time to finish additional clues. | ||||||||||
| RANK | TEAM | SOLVED | FINISH | |||||||

| Comparison #2: Pairwise Comparisons Between All Teams Using Only Common Clues | ||||||||||
| This was much more difficult to calculate, but I believe it is actually a more accurate comparison. The basic idea is, calculate the | ||||||||||
| time spent on each clue by each team, compare each pair of teams using only those clues that both teams worked on, and rank | ||||||||||
| the teams based on how many they beat in head to head comparisons. The majority of the spreadsheets here were used for | ||||||||||
| this calculation. Of course, this doesn't include many things either, like help calls, for one thing, so again this is only for fun. | ||||||||||
| RANK | TEAM | H2H WINS | H2H LOSSES | |||||||
| 1 | Blood & Bones | 24 | 0 | |||||||

| Summary | ||||||||||
| After much consideration, I eventually decided that I felt that my second comparison was objectively the better one, in that it | ||||||||||
| eliminated more of the "random" factors than the other comparison. For that reason, I've listed on our results summary page | ||||||||||
| that we finished first (with a big asterisk, of course), but since the Scooby Doobies were the winners using the other metric, and | ||||||||||
| since many in the community also believe them to have been the unofficial winners of JU, I list both teams in the winners | ||||||||||
| column of my summary page. | ||||||||||
