Game Summary:
Park Challenge was a fun mini-Game held in Golden Gate Park in San
Francisco. There were two divisions, runners and walkers, six clues,
and two course directions (clockwise and counter-clockwise). Not
only was it the shortest ever event we had ever done, it was arguably the
most successful. The maximum team size was four people, and
since we had more than four people interested, we decided to split into
two teams of four. Despite splitting in half, we remarkably finished
1st and 3rd in the walkers divisions with our two teams! Team Blood
actually finished first ahead of all the runners, too, though the runners
division did have a slightly longer course. This also marked the
first time that we won actual monetary prizes for our finish, as Team Blood
won $60 in gift certificates for Sports Basement, and $30 for Pasta Pomodoro,
while Team Bones won free entries into the next event!
We had a great time solving 6 very interesting and fun clues, and walked about 4 miles around Golden Gate Park in the process. The clues were far enough apart and we were given the clues in 2 groups of 3, so most of the time we spent walking to each clue was spent solving the following clues. At the end we were sufficiently tired, but we had a ton of fun and will definitely plan to enter the next Park Challenge held in December to defend our title.
